"Understanding Government Censorship" research project
We are partnering with one of our organizational signatories, Research Consulting, to conduct a study on the impact of this censorship. Registered on the Center for Open Science’s Open Science Framework (OSF) preregistration platform, this study will provide advocates, journalists, policymakers, and others with what we believe is the first rigorous, clear, and citable baseline study of the aggregated impact of U.S. government censorship.
Beginning in early 2025 and in order to support more effective and visible advocacy fighting the Trump administration’s attacks on intellectual freedom, research, and higher education, #DefendResearch has been maintaining lists of (1) public statements against the administration’s actions and (2) tracking projects that monitor those attacks on intellectual freedom, research, and higher education.
As with all #DefendResearch efforts, these lists are volunteer-based. If you have a suggestion for something we should consider including, contact us.
